Every year, there are new fantastic additions to the fitness blogging world, to the point that it can be hard to know where to find the voices that speak to you. There are thousands upon thousands of bloggers out there, each giving their own unique take on getting fit, staying fit and reaching your activity goals. A lot of them are conflicting and each one has a different set of goals or purpose for being there. This can make finding the right one for you pretty daunting.
I know all this because I’ve been collecting my own list of favorite fitness bloggers over the years. Some, I’ve followed for quite some time. For others, I’m a new subscriber. There are some that started out great for me but that diverged from my own beliefs and preferences so that I’ve stopped following them.
If you’re looking for a great place to get started for 2018 in terms of bloggers to follow, or if you’re looking to top up your own list, here are a few of my favorites that you might want to check out:
• Fitness on Toast – Written by Faya Nilsson, a personal trainer. She covers everything from fitness and nutrition to fashion and travel. I like the way these topics all wrap neatly together and show that being fit isn’t just a matter of a gym membership. It’s a lifestyle.
• Girls Gone Strong – Written by Molly Galbraith, I love how strongly she tries to encourage other women to get into weights training. She feels it’s a vital part of getting in shape and so do I. Not enough women turn to weights but this blog shows us how to do it in a very healthy way.
• Yoga Dork – Written by Jennilyn Carson, this is a whole blog focused on yoga. I look to this one a lot because I often need to remind myself of the importance of yoga so I’ll keep it up properly. It helps me to better understand how to benefit from yoga the most. I’ve tweaked a lot of my yoga routines and practices because of what I’ve discovered here.
• Hungry Runner Girl – Written by Janae Jacob, I absolutely love how real-life this blog is. She has shared her story throughout everything from training for the next big racing event to running after her children. I find myself relating to this blog quite a lot, so it gives me a lot of very usable inspiration.
